BANGOR — W. Pauline (Green) Connors, 94, passed away peacefully on Oct. 18, after a short illness.

She was born on Dec. 4, 1916, in Houlton, the daughter of Charles and Ada (Partridge) Green. She graduated from Houlton High School, Class of 1935, and went on to Houlton Business School for accounting. She married Lloyd T. Connors in Houlton on Friday, Nov. 13, 1936. Mr. and Mrs. Connors lived in Fort Fairfield, Houlton, Grinddstone, Medway and West Seboeis, as her husband, Lloyd, worked for the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad.

While living in Indian Township, West Seboeis, Pauline was Postmaster for that area. Many neighbors would gather at the Connors for mailings and mail deliveries. After Mr. and Mrs. Connors moved to Bangor in 1972, Pauline worked in the Utilization Review Department and Medical Records at Eastern Maine Medical Center for 10 years. After retiring, she went on to manage the Damn Yankee Gift Shop in Brewer and Bangor. She also worked for Country Casuals and assisted in the school cafeterias in the Bangor schools.

Her specialties were knitting mittens for the children of family and friends. She enjoyed reading, sharing her mustard pickles, relish, gingerbread, jams and jellies. It was a delight for all to receive her goodies. She would deliver, to the church ladies working on a project, a warm gingerbread for a special treat. She loved driving to see family, go to church and to senior luncheons. Her last driving outing was to All Souls Church luncheon on Sept. 14.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Henry of Bangor and Eloyd Hooper and her husband, Bob, of Falmouth; seven grandchildren, Kathy Lacourse of Lewiston, Joleen (Lacourse) Mills of Livermore Falls, Joe Lacourse of Lewiston, Chris Henry of Northport, Nanette Henry of Bangor, Beth Ann (Hooper) Nickerson of Brunswick and Amy Hooper of Everett, Wash.; nine great-grandchildren, Ashlee Henry of Bangor, Miranda Lacourse, Justin Martin and Trevor Martin of Lewiston, Sean Mills and Ryan Mills of Livermore Falls, Monica Lakin of Lisbon and Caroline Nickerson and Emma Nickerson of Brunswick; three great-great-grandchildren, Austyn Castonguay and twin baby girls, Aubrie and Brielle Binette, of Lewiston; and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd; elder daughter, Ina Lacourse, and her husband, Lew; and three sisters, Faye Harbison, Helen Connors and Tressa Bither.
