BIDDEFORD — Germaine A. Tardif, 93, formerly of 624 Sabattus St., Lewiston, died Friday, Oct. 21, at St. Andre Health Care Facility in Biddeford.

Born in Van Buren on Aug. 11, 1918, she was the daughter of William and Claudia Violette Lajoie. Educated in Van Buren schools, she was a 1936 graduate of Sacred Heart High School.

On Sept. 1, 1941, she married Albert J. Tardif, who passed away on June 10, 2002.

A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she was active in the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality, served as a Eucharistic Minister, and for many years organized bean suppers to help students with their tuition at St. Dominic High School.

Survivors include three sons, Clarence and his wife, Odette, of Tallahassee, Fla., Vernon and his wife, Irene, of Lewiston, and Nelson and his wife, Joan, of Lewiston; two daughters, Rita Morin of Kennebunk, and Joan and her husband, Roger Rusk, of Newnan, Ga.; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her loving husband, she was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters.
