NEWCASTLE — Brandon Bonney converted a relay from Bo Mclean in a wet game under the lights to lift Lincoln Academy to a 1-0 triumph over Leavitt in boys’ soccer action Saturday.

The score came with 13 minutes left in regulation. Bonney was positioned where the pitcher’s mound would be during the baseball season, received the relay from Mclean, and fired the ball into the top left corner of the cage for the game-winner.

Goalie Korey Mulherin made six saves for the Hornets (4-10-1), while goalie Merritt Wotton prevented three shots to earn the win in net for the Eagles (6-6-3).

Fryeburg 9, Oak Hill 1

FRYEBURG — Stefan Sjekloca, Paul Kurnic and Austin Ward each scored six goals as Fryeburg Academy overran Oak Hill with a 9-1 victory in a Western Maine Class B boys’ soccer preliminary game Saturday.

The Raiders (10-5) built a 2-0 lead in the first half and exploded with seven goals in the second half.

Tyler Sauders, Milos Mijokov and Lyonel Rutabayiro rounded out the scoring, each netting one goal apiece.

For Oak Hill, Logan Gardner scored on a Trevor Samson assist in the second half.

Hebron 33, Hyde 0

HEBRON — Hebron Academy tore up the field with a 33-0 victory over Hyde in Evergreen Football League action Saturday afteroon.

Mike Fitzsimmons scored on a 45-yard pass and a 32-yard fumble recovery in the second quarter for the Lumberjacks.

Shaquille Cezont-Holmes had a spectacular 81-yard run in the first quarter, and a 57-yard run in the second for Hebron(1-4) , while Hyde’s (0-5) offense failed to get anything started in the losing effort.

Field hockey

Kents Hill 2, Hebron 1

HEBRON — Holly Gallup posted the game-winning goal with just 34 seconds remaining in regulation as Kents Hill secured a 2-1 victory over Hebron in field hockey action Saturday.

Haley Grimmer converted a relay from Ally Strachan to put the Lumberjacks (3-5) on the board first.

Goalie Sara Grover made 10 saves for Hebron, while goalie Marissa Zamrock earned the win in net for Kents Hill with four saves.
