Oxford County was found to be the unhealthiest county in Maine for the second year. I know about that personally. When you are a shut-in, needing medical help, no doctor will go out of his way to make house calls. Search for a qualified nurse to do a house visit is not productive.

One is required to remain at home instead of going to a nursing home, yet no medical services are available.

I now know why Oxford County is the unhealthiest area.

Oxford County was granted permission by the voters to have a casino. Maybe more prestigious medical individuals will gravitate to the area.

In order to make the casino work, voters in the area must all vote in the November election to block other areas in Maine being granted gaming privileges.

A “no” vote for the Biddeford, Calais and Lewiston areas will ensure Oxford County of having a chance to move ahead.
