AUBURN — Robin Dow Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. Bingo will be played after a Halloween luncheon prepared and served by Lucien Marcoux and his crew. Members are reminded to bring their cups.
Members may dress in Halloween costume with a prize awarded to the one wearing the most original outfit.
Tickets will be sold for the Thanksgiving dinner with entertainment on Monday, Nov. 7, at Marco’s Restaurant and for the Christmas dinner with entertainment at the Ramada on Wednesday, Dec. 14. All tickets are $5. It will be the last chance to buy tickets. There will be no meetings in November or December. Those having tables must give their names to Lucy Cowles.
There were 46 members present at the Oct. 12 meeting under the direction of president Helen McGuire. Tom and Shirley Bennett were welcomed as new members.
Trip chairwoman Evelyn Sawin reported that the fall foliage trip to Meredith, N.H., was a success. Fifty-six traveled by bus, then boarded the Hobo and Winnepesaukee Railroad for a four-hour foliage trip. A stop was made for a buffet lunch at the Common Man Inn, with musical entertainment on the return trip.
McGuire announced the following officers for the year: board of directors, Alwin Strout, Virginia Houston, Merry Strout, Lucien Marcoux and Ralph Lashua. Current officers are McGuire, president; Carmela Hewitt, vice president; Joyce Poole, treasurer; Roy Tassinari, assistant treasurer; Irene Fraser, correspondence secretary; Patricia Donohue, chaplain; Lucy Cowles, membership chairwoman; and Caroline Chapman, secretary.
Birthdays for October were acknowledged. Attendance prize winners were Yvette Frechette and Lucien Marcoux; pot of gold, Midge Demers, Mary Tyler and Chuck Berube; raffle drawings, Jeannette Gagnon, Clara Hahn and John Watson.
Bingo was played after the meeting and lunch.
