LEWISTON — Anne Cecile Goddard, 75, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 24, following a short illness at Central Maine Medical Center. Her family was at her bedside as the Lord took her with him to heaven where she will no longer be in any pain.
Anne was born on June 4, 1936, in Goffstown, N.H. She had taught school in Head Start, starting in 1969. She acquired her teaching certificate in 1972, and taught students for a total of 35 years. After her retirement in 2005, she enjoyed the extra time she had doing her gardening, playing cribbage and solving word search puzzles.
Anne was very proud of her quilting skills and her great talent for playing the piano. Her greatest joy in life though, was baby-sitting her three great-grandchildren.
We are all very proud of her and all of her accomplishments. Her goal was to make a difference in people’s lives and she was able to accomplish that on a daily basis. She was always encouraging, enthusiastic and loved everyone she came in contact with. Her loving care, undivided attention and presence will be sadly missed by all.
Anne is survived by her son, John Goddard of Lewiston; her daughter, Linda Nickerson and husband, Bill, of Lewiston; her granddaughter, Jennifer Foster and husband, Adam, of Lewiston; her grandson, Will Nickerson of Lewiston; three great-grandchildren, Madeline, Lauren and Charlie Foster; and her family pets, Sunshine and Stella.
