Knitters meet

WEST PARIS — The Neighborhood Niche Food Pantry will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at West Paris Baptist Church, 15 Church St.
West Paris residents are invited to come once a month.
The pantry is open from 1 to 3 p.m. the first Wednesday and from noon to 2 p.m. the third Saturday of each month.

Harvest supper
OXFORD — Grace Fellowship Church of Poplar Street will host a Harvest Supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. The menu will consist of ham, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, turnip, beets and onions, rolls, biscuits, beverage and homemade pie. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under. Turkey supper, dance
PARIS — A turkey supper and dance will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Legion Hall, Church Street.
The supper runs from 5 to 6 p.m. The cost is $7.
The dance is from 6:30 to 9:30 with music by Jones Dance Band. The cost is $5.
Take-a-Chance
PARIS — The 4-H Take-a-Chance Auction will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School cafeteria. Doors open at 4 p.m., auction starts at 6.
There will be hundreds of items to take a chance on. All proceeds will benefit Oxford County 4-H Leaders Association. Refreshments will be available.
Roast turkey
SOUTH PARIS — A roast turkey dinner with holiday pies will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Deering Memorial Methodist Church, Main and Church streets. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
Parking is available behind the library and town office.

HEBRON — Girl Scouts of Maine will host a parent information and registration meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at the Hebron Community Baptist Church.
Girls and adults are invited to attend the meeting to find out about the many different and fun ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best. Participants will also learn about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.

Socrates Cafe
WATERFORD — A Socrates Cafe gathering will be held at the Waterford Library from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month. The group offers a forum to discuss current topics and ideas in a warm, friendly atmosphere, where divergent views will be welcome.
The topic for the November meeting will be “Is Health Care A Right?” The moderator will be Jim Kearney.
