Ongoing bottle drive
RUMFORD — Team opportunities, a group of local independent athletes, is collecting returnable bottles and cans. They can be dropped off at 179 Wyman Hill Road or call coach Clemma Nichols at 364-8622 or 357-0098 to arrange for pick-up.
This is an ongoing year-round fundraiser for the Special Olympics, as the athletes are active in different events all year. Each athlete is responsible for their own entrance fees.
Spaghetti supper
SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner will hold a community spaghetti supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. This is the monthly 1st Saturday Supper. Donations will benefit youth scholarships to Pilgrim Lodge Camp in the summer. The youths will be helping to prepare and serve the meal which will include vegetables, bread and desserts.
Relay fundraiser
MEXICO — A Scentsy party will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the Mexico Congregational Church, 163 Main St. Proceeds benefit the Friends and Family Forever Relay for Life team.
Scentsy is a wickless alternative to scented candles. To place an outside order, call Kim at 364-7953 or Gloria at 364-7818.
Parent conferences
DIXFIELD — Dirigo High School will hold Parent/Teacher/Student conferences from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, and from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14.
Each conference will be held to 15 minutes. Parents who need additional time or who cannot make one of these nights should schedule an appointment with the teacher at a more convenient time.

MEXICO — The Stephens High School Class of 1955 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Dick’s Restaurant for the regular monthly meeting.
Girl Scout info
RUMFORD — Girl Scouts of Maine will host parent information and registration meetings at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Mexico Public Library, and at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Rumford Public Library.
Girls and adults are invited to attend the meeting to find out about the many different and fun ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best. Participants will also learn about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.
