AUBURN — A jury Thursday afternoon ruled in favor of Androscoggin County Sheriff Guy Desjardins and his second-in-command in a civil suit filed against them by a former employee who alleged they retaliated against her after she complained about a plan to move an abusive supervisor to work a day shift.
After a four-day trial and, in less than three hours, the jury supported the county and found 8-1 against former jail worker Lisa Levesque.
Waterville attorney Peter Marchesi, who represented the county, said he was pleased the jury believed the “administration had a valid reason for doing what it did” in adjusting Levesque’s work schedule and job duties, and that it had nothing to do with retaliation.
