AUBURN — The Auburn Falcons youth JV football team went 3-1 in October to finsih with a 7-1 record has they prepare for the end-of-year Halloween bowl.
Auburn defeated Westbrook 16-8, Boothbay 20-6 and South Portland 12-0 and lost to Camden 12-6.
Fifth-grade sensation Devonte Rembert led the team with 11 touchdowns and was the leading ground gainer for the season. Storm Jipson, Giles Paradie, Caleb Yarnevich and Curtis Teague also ate up yardage for the high-powered Auburn offense. The strength of the offense was the line with tight end Dakota Bosquet, tackles Tyler Chute and Bobby Tremaine, guards Ben Hallet and Will Fletcher and center Kobe Thomas. Noah Jordan, Dakota Leslie and Josh Chessney were key subs for Auburn.
The defense was a major force for Auburn this year led by middle linebacker Paradie, nose guard Fletcher and big hitter at cornerback Danny Milks. Parker Kramarz started at corner across from Milks and gave great pass support. Cooper Watkins provided support at backer with Jipson, while Mike Derosiers, Logan Little and Rembert were key in the secondary. The D-line was anchored by Fletcher but also included standout end play with Yarnevich and Teague. Tremaine and Chute also had big days on the defensive side with Bosquet plaing both linebacker and D-line.
The Halloween Bowl will be a series of exhibition games in which the Falcons will take on Brunswick, Cape Elizabeth and Greely. The banquet will be Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Rec Department.
