AUBURN — Memorial services honoring the life of Samuel J. Hutchinson were held Friday from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son with Chaplain Denis Mailhot presiding. During the service the songs, “How Great Thou Art’, “In the Garden,” and “Old Rugged Cross” were played as well as. Sam’s favorite song by Toby Keith, “As Good As I Once Was.” At the conclusion of services. the U.S. Navy Honor Detail played, “taps” and presented our country’s flag to Sam’s mother, Marie, in recognition of Sam’s service to his country during the Vietnam Conflict. Burial will be private in the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.
