AUBURN — Candidates for the two at-large seats on the City Council will get one last chance to make their case Wednesday at a debate at the Auburn Public Library.
The debate, sponsored by the League of Young Voters, is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. Nov. 2 in the library’s community room. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Five candidates are vying for the two seats in the Nov. 8 election. Incumbent Belinda Gerry faces challengers Jeremiah Bartlett, J. Michael Lemay, Ronald Potvin and Joshua Shea.
Nicola Wells, state director of the League of Young Voters, said the seats are important enough to merit one last look at the candidates before the election.
“We felt that since there are two seats open, we wanted another chance to hear from these candidates,” Wells said.
Questions will focus on housing, budget issues, transportation and education.
The event is open to the public and free of charge.
