I have lived in Auburn more than 20 years, and raised my family here. Like every parent, I want my children to have a better chance of success if they decide to live here.
Young people can’t find work in Lewiston-Auburn and have to move away. Too many citizens are struggling to make ends meet.
I did not originally support the casino. Since then, I checked it out, learned of the positive economic impact, and now strongly support building it in Bates Mill 5.
President Barack Obama and Gov. Paul LePage both have stressed the need for job creation. Only the private sector can create enough jobs.

Voting “yes” on Question 3 on Election Day, Nov. 8, will redevelop the downtowns in both Auburn and Lewiston. Locally and statewide, Question 3 will create hundreds of good-paying jobs and nearly $30 million for seniors, veterans and many other groups.
Think about 800 new construction jobs to build it, and 400 service jobs to operate it. Think about all the new construction jobs created to build shops and offices in the downtowns and other parts of both cities which will help everybody.
Lewiston’s downtown can be built every bit as nice as the Old Port in Portland. I am hoping Lewiston-Auburn residents will go to the polls and vote “yes” on Question 3, in support of increased jobs.
