Benefit event

RUMFORD — A benefit event to support the family of Rosalie Davis, mother of Amy (Frost) Schmersal, Bobbi Frost, Erik Frost and wife of Ken Davis, will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Eagles Hall.

Rosalie lost her battle with pancreatic cancer Oct. 5. Proceeds from the benefit will go to the Patrick Dempsey Cancer Center.

The event will include live music, dancing, food and raffles. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Donations may be mailed to 603 Franklin St., Rumford, ME 04276, or brought to TA-DAH’s Hair Studio, 5 Main St., Mexico. For more information, call Amy or Eric Schmersal at 357-6893.

BERLIN, N.H. — St. Kieran Arts Center has announced the return of the Robinson Ballet’s holiday classic, “The Nutcracker,” at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Berlin Junior High Auditorium.

The special holiday performance features more than 45 dancers. Tickets, $12 for adults and $6 for students/children, are available at the arts center office, 155 Emery St.; Gill’s Florist; Top Furniture; White Mountain Café, Gorham; Northway Banks, Berlin and Gorham; Brown School and Berlin Junior High School library; Riff Flower Shop, Lancaster; and Lazerworks Radio Shack, Colebrook.

Memorial Mass

RUMFORD — St. Timothy Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, will have a memorial Mass at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, followed by a potluck supper in the parish hall. Members are asked to bring items for the supper. The committee will furnish the dessert and rolls.

Committee members are Chairwomen Andrea Gurney and Nancy Martineau; Julie Salatino, Linda Merrill, Lilly Burns, Kathy Kellogg, Sharon Gates, Janet Halley and Barbara Pelletier.

Nonperishable donations for the Thanksgiving basket should be left at the parish hall by the bingo board by Saturday, Nov. 19.
