FARMINGTON — Franklin County commissioners voted Wednesday to hire a Livermore woman as the new deputy clerk/deputy treasurer.

Michelle Berry will start Monday, Nov. 14, at a wage of $14.60 an hour.

A county committee interviewed six of the 28 applicants, county Clerk Julie Magoon said. The panel recommended Berry, she said.

Berry has experience with online banking and online payroll. She does not have any experience in municipal accounts, Magoon said, but could be trained.

“We’re going to have to expect there is going to be some training,” she said. “I think she has the skills.”

Magoon said Berry plans to give a two-week notice to her current employer and would be able to start Monday, Nov. 14.

In another matter, commissioners gave the Sheriff’s Department permission to get bids for cruisers.

The board had rejected all bids on Oct. 5 because the price exceeded the $75,000 budgeted.
