LEWISTON — Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Family Church, 607 Sabattus St., will host a community-wide Veterans Day Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11.

This is the eighth year that Prince of Peace Parish offers the “We Remember and Give Thanks” evening of refection, honoring those who have served and those who are serving in the Armed Forces.

All are invited to the community service no matter what denomination or faith affiliation.

Brother Irenee Richard, OP, deacon of Prince of Peace Parish, will be joined by the Rev. Lissa Bradford, chaplain at the Hospice House and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, and the Rev. Jay Turner, director of pastoral care at Central Maine Medical Center.

Music for the occasion will be a combined effort of the choir members from area Lewiston and Auburn churches directed and accompanied by Dr. Paul Caron, who will perform his own arrangement of military songs that honor the different branches of the military as the flags for each are presented.

All active and inactive military and their families are invited. Those active soldiers living in the area or home on leave are invited to attend in uniform.
