LEWISTON — Lorraine Federico Poretta, 80, of 550 College St., formerly of 17 Martha Ave., Lewiston, passed away Nov. 2, while at CMMC, surrounded by her loving family.
Lorraine touched the lives of everyone she met, with her light, warmth and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was born in Rumford, Dec. 10, 1930, the daughter of the late Albert S. and Emma (Roy) Martin. She was educated in Lewiston schools and graduated from LHS in 1949. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lorraine was a devoted mother who always put her children first. She was also known as Mom to many others.
After raising her family, she wintered in Florida for 20 years. She loved spending time on the beach, playing cards and had a great passion for cooking, entertaining and dancing. She was always the life of the party.
She married the late Leo “Lee” Poretta on Jan. 28, 1991. They spent many happy years together traveling and enjoying life.
Lorraine is survived by two sons, David “Rocky” Federico and wife, Jackie and Dusty Federico and companion, Gail Thurston; three daughters, Linda Federico, Diane Nadeau and her fiance, Edward O’Donnell and Brenda Markee and her husband, Chris; seven grandchildren, Tobey Federico and companion, Erica Beaule, Chad Federico and companion, Debbie Bosse, Stacey LaFlamme and husband, David, Jessica Nadeau and companion, Dave Aboelezz, Brittany Nadeau and companion, Matt Weber, Kelin Sevit and Deni Federico; four great-grandchildren, Devon, Madison, Mason and Brooklyn; one brother, Robert Martin and wife, Isabella; two sisters, Monita Buteau and husband, Charles and Joan Sampson and husband, Maurice; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Albert, Richard and Michael; one sister, Priscilla.
Her family would also like to thank the caring staff at Central Maine Medical Center’s ICU and Comfort Care Department, especially Patti, Erin, and Jen.
