PARIS — A procession of tow trucks will roll through Paris and Norway on Sunday in memory of Paul Charles Creamer, owner of Charlie’s Towing, who passed away Oct. 28 at the age of 52.
Creamer, known to many as “Charlie Tuna,” was previously the owner of Charlie’s Entertainment Center. He was a longtime friend of Peter Goding, who worked for Creamer and who organized Sunday’s memorial.
Sunday’s memorial will be the second in a week. Last Sunday, Goding organized a run of tow trucks for John S. Russell, who died Oct. 26. Russell had owned Russell and Sons Towing in Norway.
Goding said he expects 20 to 25 trucks from the Oxford Hills and Lewiston-Auburn areas at the event. At 1 p.m., the trucks will start from Western Avenue in Paris and roll down Main Street to Paris Street in Norway, then up Main Street in Norway to Lake Pennesseewassee and back to the starting point.
Creamer’s family will hold a service at Woodfords Club in Portland on Monday, according to his obituary. Goding said Sunday’s procession is for his friends in the area. A lot of people can’t make it down to Portland for the Monday service, Goding said.
