PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Walter G. Parker, 75, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Saturday, Oct. 29.
He was born on Feb. 1, 1936, in Auburn to Walter E. and Etheleen (nee Foss) Parker. He graduated in 1954 from Edward Little High School.
Walter served in the Army National Guard during the Korean War.
He was a self-employed master electrician and also had rental properties. Walter was a volunteer with the Yarmouth Fire Department for many years, and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Yarmouth. He moved to Port Charlotte in 1987, where he was called Wally and was known as the Mayor of his street. He enjoyed helping his neighbors and loved gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Poirier) of Lewiston; children, Chuck (Meghan Casey) Parker of Yarmouth, Beth (Gordy) MacMullen of Brunswick, Russell Parker of Aurora, Co., and Susan (Gary Smith) Parker of Loon Lake, Wash.; sister, Lois (Rodney) Sawyer of Gorham, N.H.; and nine grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, William; and a sister, Linda Armstrong.
