FARMINGTON — A 30-plus-year-old road found on tax maps but never built will be the topic of a public hearing at the Board of Selectmen’s meeting Tuesday.
The board will convene at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Municipal Building to make a determination on the presumed abandonment of Penobscot Drive.
In 1977, the town accepted the potential street on paper. It’s mapped off Seminole Drive and Shawnee Drive and was planned to extend into potential house lots. They never developed and neither did the road.
A couple of people have interest in the property and want the status of the road defined and cleared up, Code Enforcement Officer Steve Kaiser said.
In other business, the board will discuss contracting for cemetery maintenance, establishing the date for the 2012 annual town meeting and, in executive session, conducting the town manager’s annual performance evaluation.
