Nutting to speak
OXFORD — Speaker of the House Bob Nutting will address the Oxford County Republicans at their county committee meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The meeting will be held at the Oxford Advent Christian Church, 1130 Main St.

VFW dance
HARRISON — The Harrison VFW Post 9328 will hold a dance for anyone 21 or older on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 8 p.m. to midnight. The cost is $10 per person.
The kitchen will be open selling hot dogs, soda, popcorn and chips. There will also be the country band Cold Blue Steel performing live.

Pancake breakfast
LOCKE MILLS — A blueberry pancake breakfast will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Locke Mills Union Church.

Pot roast supper
OTISFIELD — The Sunday School of the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church will host a pot roast supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, in the Fellowship Room of the church, Rayville Road off Route 121.
The menu includes seasonal vegetables, hot rolls and dessert. Donations are accepted.
Holiday fair
SOUTH PARIS — The annual Fall Holiday Church Fair of the South Paris Universalist Church will take place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. There will be two hot lunch choices to be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The lunches will be priced at $6 each for either corn chowder or beef “patchwork” stew with vegetables, hot biscuit, dessert and coffee or tea.
Sales will be available for antiques, collectibles, linens, hand-work and Christmas decorations and for home cooked foods.
Take-out lunch orders can be called for by phoning 743-7403 on Nov. 12.
Family breakfast
PARIS — The Norway-Paris Fish and Game Association will hold a family breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 13, at the club house, 744 Buckfield Road, South Paris.
The menu includes eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, french toast sticks, toast, juice and coffee. The cost is $6, with children 5 and under free. The proceeds of the breakfast will be donated to The Sportsmen’s Alliance of Maine. New executive director of SAM, David Trahan will be attending.

World’s Fair meeting
WATERFORD — The next meeting of the Waterford World’s Fair will be held at the Waterford Town office at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13. All members, directors and anyone interested in the fair are encourage to attend to hear the results of the Fryeburg Fair Food booth and the financial status of the fair.
It is also time to make sure everything at the fairgrounds has been taken care of for winter. There are still a few spots available for winter storage of boats and campers. Call President Dana Hemingway at 595-2430 for more information.
Veterans Day program
PARIS — The Maine Veterans Home will hold their annual Veteran’s Day program at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13.
The guest speaker will be Ltc. Ret. Terry F. Moore, who serves on the Maine Veteran’s Home Board of Trustees. She will also present certificates and medals to women veterans from the area.
