AUBURN — Crystal Thorpe, author of “Mom Always Liked You Best,” will visit the Auburn Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17.

Family members often get stuck arguing about what to do when faced with difficult decisions – whether around eldercare issues, living situations or even sharing a family vacation home. Thorpe will share her experiences as a mediator working with families in conflict and offers tips to bring about more collaborative decision-making.

An Auburn native, Thorpe is a founding partner of Elder Decisions and of its parent company Agreement Resources, LLC, both based in Norwood, Mass.  She mediates disputes among family members about eldercare, family communication, caregiving, and trust and estate issues.  She also provides training in Conflict Resolution Skills for eldercare professionals and trains mediators from around the world in the growing field of Elder (Adult Family) Mediation. She and her colleagues recently published, “Mom Always Liked You Best: A Guide for Resolving Family Feuds, Inheritance Battles & Eldercare Crises.”

The library is at 49 Spring St. For more information, contact Martin Gagnon at 333-6640, ext. 4.
