WATERFORD — The Waterford Historical Society will hold a potluck supper meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the North Waterford Church. The program on The Country Store will feature present and former proprietors of country stores in Waterford: Paul Leger, Virginia Knight, Prentiss and Edith Kimball and Joan Fillebrown. Memories of other stores will also be shared.
The meeting is free and open to all.
Worship topic
PARIS — Silver Moore-Leamon will lead the 10 a.m. worship service at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., on Sunday, Nov. 13. Her sermon topic will be, “Sheep and Goats.” Forest Perkins will lead the music and Renee Wales will direct the Sunday School. The Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Child Care is provided. Everyone is invited.

WEST PARIS — Cindy Reedy will be returning guest speaker Sunday, Nov. 13, at the First Universalist Church of West Paris. The service is titled, “Tranquil Streams, a philosophical look at the Roots of Unitarian Universalism.” Reedy is a teacher at Hebron Academy and is a third-generation Unitarian.
Heywood Club
NORWAY — The next meeting of the Heywood Club will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at the home of Rowena Palmer. Discussions will be held regarding the future direction of the club along with plans for the Christmas Party. OTISFIELD — The Food Pantry will be open from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Spurrs Corner Church, Route 121. Girl scout info
FRYEBURG — Girl Scouts of Maine will host a Girl Scout sampler and parent information and registration meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the C.A. Snow Elementary School.
Girls and adults are invited to attend the meeting to find out about the many different and fun ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best. Participants will also learn about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.

Wine tasting benefit
NAPLES — Merced’s on Brandy Pond will host a wine tasting from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, to benefit Lake Region High School’s Project Grad 2012.
The event will feature several varieties of fine wine to sample and savor, along with a silent auction.
Cost is $25 per person. Admission includes tasting four wines, a half-hour lesson with Sam Brown on wine appreciation and savory hors d’oeuvres prepared by Merced’s, 770 Roosevelt Trail. Additional food and beverage will be available for a cost.

Ski pass raffle
NAPLES — Lake Region High School Project Grad 2012 is holding a family ski pass raffle. Shawnee Peak Ski Area donated a 2011-12 Family Season Pass for two adults with unlimited immediate dependents, worth $1,970. A $20 ticket buys one chance to win the pass, while $100 buys six chances.
The winning ticket will be drawn during the Family Night Celebration at The Umbrella Club/Tony’s Foodland in Naples at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15. The winner does not need to be present.
Raffle tickets are available at Sporthaus, Hayes True Value Hardware and R.G. Johnson in Bridgton, The Umbrella Factory/Tony’s Foodland in Naples, Jordan’s Store in Sebago and the Casco AG in Casco.
