LISBON — Lisa Ward defeated incumbent Roger Cote for a three-year seat on the Town Council in balloting Tuesday. The vote was 1,361 for Ward and  1,103 for Cote.

In the only other contest, Marcey Crosskill defeated Dean Willey, 1,615 to 727, for a three-year seat on the School Committee.

Incumbent Water Commissioner Kenneth Wells, who was running unopposed, garnered 2,024 votes for a three-year term.

Two openings on the Budget Advisory Board were filled by write-in votes as there were no candidates. Results are to be determined.

A nonbinding advisory referendum asking voters if they wanted the town to vote on an amendment to the town charter, that, if enacted, would require voter approval at a referendum election for the annual municipal budget, was approved 2,025 to 514.

Eight ordinance amendments were all approved by wide margins.

In the statewide referendum questions, voters approved Election Day registration 1,482 to 1,281.

They opposed the Biddeford and Washington County racino 1,296 to 1,465; and the Lewiston casino, 1,225 to 1,535.

Question 4 calling for a constitutional amendment on redistricting was defeated 1,428 to 1,222.
