Holly Fair

RANGELEY — The Barn of the Rangeley Congregational Church, UCC, on High Street will be full to the brim with crafts for holiday giving as the church holds its annual Holly Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.

The women of the church have been meeting throughout the year to create unique items for this sale. Many new and different gifts will take their places alongside knitted, crocheted and quilted pieces. There will be a Santa’s Seconds table as well as a table featuring a gingerbread theme and another with snowmen items. Many one-of-a-kind hostess gift baskets are ready for holiday giving.

A new offering, homemade baked beans, will enhance the table of traditional food. There will also be a cookie walk, RADA cutlery and permanent floral arrangements.

The Little Mountain School moms will provide a luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as a fund-raiser for LMS.

Book event

FARMINGTON — Books Are Fun will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Franklin Memorial Hospital’s Bass Room. There will be books, gifts, music and something for everyone.

Local authors Nancy Prince, author of “Libby’s Loon,” and Karen Calloway, author of “After the Rain,” will sign books from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

The event is sponsored by FMH Auxiliary and is open to the public.

Pie, bread sale

FARMINGTON — The Cascade Brook School will hold its fifth annual fundraising pie and bread sale from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, in the school library. New offerings this year include jams and jellies in addition to the pies and breads.

Couponing class

READFIELD — Maranacook Adult Education will offer “Couponing 101: Save Hundreds of Dollars” with instructor Amanda Fontaine from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Marranacook High School.

In this one night fun class, learn how to save hundreds of dollars on everything. Instantly save money on grocery bills. Those who currently have a coupon system are asked to bring it to class along with any expired coupons.

Early registration is $25; after Nov. 22, $30.

Bake sale

FARMINGTON — There will be a Thanksgiving bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Pinewood Terrace, 136 Rosewood Drive. The proceeds will benefit the Residents Activity Fund. For more information call 779-0511.

Gift wrapping

FARMINGTON — The Hinkley Family Scholarship Fund will provide a holiday gift-wrapping service at 186 Main St. Donations will benefit award scholarships for eligible students.

The service will be offered from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25-26, and every Saturday in December, and also from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Times may vary.

Crafts, auction

PHILLIPS — A holiday craft fair and auction will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at Phillips School.

Items include jewelry, handbags, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Paparazzi, Woodworks, Avon, wreaths and more.

Door prizes will be drawn. Raffle drawings will be held for a quilt, a boy stocking and a girl stocking.

A silent auction drawing will be held at the end of the day. Some items include passes to Saddleback and Black Mountain, and a family four-pack to the Sea Dogs.

Food and drinks will be available. Santa will be present from 1 to 3 p.m. for pictures. Bring your camera.

All proceeds benefit the 2012 Phillips eighth grade class trip to Quebec.
