FARMINGTON — Florice Elizabeth Sanders, 90, died on Nov. 9, at the Sandy River Center for Health.

She was born April 12, 1921, in Phillips, the daughter of Carlton and Manette Harnden Haggan. She was educated in the schools of Phillips and graduated from Phillips High School in 1939. She married Robert C. Sanders on April 13, 1940 in Strong, and he died in September 1999.

She and her husband owned and operated Bob’s Place in Avon and Bob’s Electric and Plumbing in Phillips. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and tole painting. She was a member of the Phillips Congregational Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a devoted mother/homemaker and dedicated her life to her family.

She is survived by her son, Lowell (Nick) Sanders of Phillips; her daughter, Joan Thompson of Kingfield; her brother, Harold Haggan of Strong; her sister, June Durrell of Strong; her aunt, Zelda Harnden of Strong; three grandsons, Todd Thompson and wife, Mary Jo, of New Sharon, Toby Thompson and wife, Kelly, of Manchester and Tim Thompson and wife, Lisa, of Farmington; and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Odlin Thompson; her sister, Anita Storer; and two brothers, Howard and Ronald Haggan.
