DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am hoping that either you or your readers will be able to help. I was recently given a treadmill in awesome condition. Unfortunately, it did not have the instruction manual with it, and I can’t seem to figure out how to use the settings.

If one of your readers would have one they no longer need or if you could find the address to the company so that I could send for one, I would be really grateful. The treadmill is a Weslo Cadence G-25 Model No. WLTL191051.

Thank you so much for all you do. — Linda Buck, Bryant Pond

ANSWER: Sun Spots found a phone number for Weslo, 1-888-308-9622. You can also download your manual from www.weslo.com. Sun Spots looked for your specific manual, and it is at http://tinyurl.com/6yskded. (Sun Spots had a little trouble with this website. If it doesn’t work, try again later.)

If you don’t have a computer at home, you can print it at the library. There may be a small fee for doing so.

The practice of putting manuals online is becoming common for new purchases as well as old. Sun Spots bought a new cellphone last year and got only a tiny book with it, but a full manual describing all the functions is on a website.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: This recipe is smaller than the one you published on Oct. 19, but it’s ideal for one person. It’s also good for teaching a child.

In a large mug put 2 tablespoons flour, 3 tablespoons sugar and 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder. Mix well.

Add 1 large egg and mix well. Add 2 tablespoons milk and 2 tablespoons of oil. Mix well.

Add 2 tablespoons chocolate chips and a splash of vanilla. Mix well once again.

Put mug in microwave for two minutes on high. Enjoy! — Jane Biddle, Buckfield

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Regarding your Oct. 19 response to the reader who asked for a recipe for microwave mug cakes, I just wanted to let you know that I’ve written a book that contains 101 of them.

My book, which was featured on the Rachael Ray Show, is called “101 Recipes for Microwave Mug Cakes” (http://tinyurl.com/4ytcqu9). There’s also a gluten-free version: “101 Reicpes for Gluten-Free Microwave Mug Cakes” (http://tinyurl.com/3peg73b).

If you’d ever like to do a giveaway or reprint one of my recipes, please let me know. Thank you for your time and consideration. — Stacey J. Miller via email

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends is once again looking for bakers and candy makers who can donate their delicious baked goods for the upcoming bake sale, Dec. 17 and 18 at the Kennel Shop in the Lewiston Mall.

Most people have someone in their lives who has had to battle cancer. Although I have been a pet owner for many years, I didn’t realize just how many domestic pets also get cancer. Those pets with loving owners get the medical care to treat them and save their lives.

But there are many feral and abandoned cats that have no one to take them for treatment for even the most basic of illnesses, let alone pay for it. That is what part of the money raised by Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends helps to do. It helps the forgotten and helpless cats in our community get the care they need to survive.

If you can donate to the bake sale or for more information, please call Norm at 650-8374. Thank you for your help. — Sherry, Mechanic Falls

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you to the uniformed man for making the phone call to Collins Wrecker Service and a huge thank-you to the gentleman who paid the bill for unlocking our car doors in the Save-A-Lot parking lot in Farmington on Oct. 17. Kind deeds change lives. — M.H., Livermore
