First Auburn SC

LEWISTON — The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet for a Thanksgiving dinner at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Green Ladle, 156 East Ave. Entertainment will be provided by Present Company. There will be special drawings of the pot of gold.

The Nov. 2 meeting was attended by 47 members. Pat Records and Lucien Marcoux won the attendance drawing; Pat Edwards, John Watson and Helen Merrow, pot of gold; and Callie Adams, Anna Gavel and Gerry Brushwein, special drawings. New member Nancy Duprey was welcomed.

VFW awards

LEWISTON — Longley-Dionne Post 9150, VFW, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the Mult-Purpose Center. The agenda will include awards presented to Patriotic Pen and Voice of Democracy essay winners.  A light lunch will be served at 6:30.

Legion to meet

LEWISTON — American Legion Post 22 will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. Unit 22 Auxiliary will meet at 5:15 p.m. A luncheon will be served.

There will be a 50/50 drawing and several turkeys will be the raffle prizes. All members should wear their caps. Membership cards for 2012 will be checked and dues may be paid at that time.

Orchestra to play

MANCHESTER — The Augusta Symphony Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Hope Baptist Church. The cost is $10 for adults and is free for children and students.
