PARIS — The Oxford County Commission meeting Tuesday will be split between Paris and Mason Township.
Commissioners will hold a regular meeting in the morning, with reports from county departments scheduled. After lunch, the commission will reconvene in Mason Township on Tyler Road for a 1 p.m. public hearing on a petition to lay out a highway there.
The hearing is part of the process by which the county will take Tyler Road by eminent domain. Landowners on the road disputed ownership of the section of road that ran through their property.
The county opted to take the road by eminent domain, and the commission and the landowners came to a settlement in June that Oxford County would purchase the strip of land on which the road runs and agree not to make any major improvements that would disrupt the land.
Commissioners are set to return to the courthouse for the remainder of the meeting.
