JAY — A tractor-trailer stopped on Route 4 Monday, waiting to turn left into the driveway of New England Public Warehouse and a car that attempted to go around it collided, police officer Russell Adams said Tuesday.

No one was injured. Both vehicles were traveling south on the road in North Jay.

The Mazda driven by Amanda McDevitt, 24, of Jay, attempted to go around the left side of the truck, he said. The truck driver, Michael Gibson, 46, of Hartland, didn’t see any vehicle coming in the northbound lane and started to turn, Adams said. He did not see the car about to pass him. The truck is owned by J & F Corp. in Dudley, Mass.

The car’s passenger side and the truck’s front wheel collided. The car rolled over and landed in a ditch, he said. He estimated it was damaged beyond repair. Adams estimated damage to the truck was about $5,000.
