Thanksgiving dinner

MEXICO — The First Baptist Church of 20 Roxbury Road will host their second annual free Thanksgiving dinner for River Valley area residents Wednesday, Nov. 23. Serving times will be at 4, 4:30, 5 and 5:30 p.m. The meal will consist of turkey, gravy, stuffing, potato, peas, carrots, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce and an assortment of homemade pies. Turkey dinner

RUMFORD — The Rumford Baptist Church will serve a free community turkey dinner with all the fixings from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24. The church is handicap accessible and is located on the corner of Plymouth Avenue and Washington Street. Everyone is welcome. For more information call Clemma Nicholas at 364-8622.

Wares Fair

BETHEL — Bethel’s Local Wares Fair, a kick-off to the Country Christmas in Bethel celebration, will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at The Bethel Inn Conference Center, off Main Street, behind Northeast Bank.

Free horse-drawn wagon rides through Bethel Village will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. Interested riders should gather in front of the Bethel Library on the Bethel Common.

Rotary buffet

BETHEL — The Rotary Club of Bethel will hold its fall all-you-can-eat buffet from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at Ordway Dining Hall, Gould Academy, Church Street.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $3 for children 12 or younger. Tickets in advance $7. Advanced tickets can be purchased from club members or at the River View Resort and Mt. Mann Jewelers. Proceeds benefit the club’s community projects and scholarships.
