AUBURN — Albert Bergen, a member of the team at Austin Associates, PA, CPAs, has earned his Certified Public Accountant license from the Maine Board of Accountancy.

Maine requires applicants to earn at least 150 college credits, pass an exhaustive four-part test, and demonstrate at least two years of experience in public accounting.

Bergen earned his bachelor of science in computer engineering from the University of Maine in 2002 and later studied accounting at the University of Southern Maine. He joined Austin Associates in 2010 after accumulating more than five years of experience in public accounting with Berry Talbot Royer in Falmouth.

At Austin Associates, Bergen specializes in corporate and partnership taxation, as well as the preparation of compiled and reviewed financial statements. Areas of focus include professional service firms, lodging and food service providers, and sustainable business practices. He is currently accepting new clients and may be reached at 783-9111.
