LEWISTON — A memorial Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of J. Richard Vachon was celebrated Thursday by the Rev. Lionel Chouinard at Holy Family Church of the Prince of Peace Parish, following prayers at the Pinette and Lynch Funeral Home. During the Mass, the New Testament reading was presented by Dick’s niece, Susan Mason. The prayer of the faithful was recited by Dick’s niece, Julie Labrecque. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by the Pomerleau family, comprised of Dick’s nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. At the conclusion of Mass, words of remembrance were shared by Dick’s nephew, Chad Higgins. The urn bearers were Anne Bergeron, Chad Higgins, Zak Bergeron and Patricia Higgins. A private committal will be held at a later date by Dick’s family.
