I’ve been reading and listening to the news about the march on Wall Street and I am very impressed by this movement. Dissent, to me, is very patriotic.

We cannot all be camping out in protest but we could take turns, by groups, to march from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the state capital. The ones who can could travel to Washington, D.C., and do the same there.

Not much will change in this country until millions and millions of people are willing to peacefully protest, and for as long as it takes to encourage changes for the common good.

People keep blaming President Barack Obama for the mess this country is in. Did people really listen to his plans to revitalize the country? Members of Congress did all they could to destroy all his efforts.

If we are going to blame anyone, blame Congress, or its owners — corporate America. Most of the laws they lobby for favor the top 1 percent of the population.

This nation has all the resources needed to prosper, but they are all held very securely in the wrong hands.

The U.S. is controlled by fear, always the fear of not having enough.

“In God we trust” doesn’t really apply unless the Golden Rule is practiced.

We, the people, need to blame ourselves for the lack of dissent.

Now, more than ever, people must be willing to work for the common good. I am grateful for those who already are.
