RUMFORD — The Western Maine Economic Development Council is offering a workshop, “Marketing for Your Business and Community” on Dec. 1 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Rumford Town Hall auditorium.

The workshop is designed for businesses and nonprofits that want to rethink their marketing strategies; also for local leaders to think creatively about marketing their communities.

Donna Fichtner, a recognized leader in the hospitality industry, will be helping attendees learn what marketing is all about, as well as how to be more strategic in marketing decisions. She is past chairwoman of the Maine Tourism Commission and a member of the board of the Maine Tourism Association. She has more than 38 years of experience in tourism and hospitality.
