AUBURN — Marie M. Ouellette, 85, of Clover Manor Health Care Facility in Auburn, passed away on Friday, Nov. 18, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin with her family by her side following a long illness.
She was born in St. Agathe on May 7, 1926, the daughter of Denis and Marie (Hebert) Chasse and came to Lewiston with her sisters in 1943.
On Nov. 22, 1947, Marie married Normand F. Ouellette. Marie and Norm would have enjoyed 65 years together raising their four children. Marie will be remembered for her wonderful meals and her beautiful gardens which she tended with her husband. She enjoyed trips with her sisters to Aroostook County to spend time with her family.
In their later years, Marie and Norm moved to Oak Park and Marie enjoyed spending time with her lady friends shopping, making puzzles and just being together.
Marie is survived by her husband, Normand F. Ouellette, of Auburn; two daughters, Jeannine Peyser and her husband, Ron, of Auburn, and Claudette Croteau and her husband, Stephen, of Limington; two sons, Ray Ouellette and his companion, Barbara Robitaille, of Auburn, and Paul Ouellette and his wife, Mona, of Auburn; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Regina Poulin, Edwina Maillet, Alma Mathieu and her husband, Paul, and Arteline Vyr, all of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.
Marie’s children would like to thank the staff at Clover Manor Health Care Facility, St. Mary’s Hospital and the Hospice House of Androscoggin for the excellent care given to their mother.
