RUMFORD — Betting on a good turnout, Black Mountain of Maine will be hosting a Texas hold ’em poker tournament Sunday, Nov. 27.

Money raised will help support the volunteer ski patrol program. The mountain has approximately 10 volunteers who work more than 100 hours during the ski season.

Jennifer Leduc, event coordinator, said the money will go toward medical and safety supplies.

“Some of the big items we are hoping to purchase is a second toboggan and ropes to help assist in the need of a lift evacuation,” she said.

A total of 100 seats are available for the tournament and tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 364-8977.

“It’s $40 to reserve a seat and we also have a $5 high hand,” Leduc said.

Food and drinks will be served and a cash bar will be available. Registration is at 11 a.m. and the tournament starts at 12:20 p.m. at Black Mountain of Maine.
