RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for John F. Milligan on Monday at Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church, with the Rev. Phil Tracy as celebrant. Altar assistant was George Gionet and organist was Mark Belanger. Music selections were “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Because the Lord Is My Shepherd,” “We Will Rise Again” and “Fly Like a Bird.” Readings were given by his grandsons, Sean Milligan and Michael Willey. The eulogy was given by his grandson, Adam Milligan. Presenting the gifts were his granddaughters, Megan Willey and Victoria Milligan. Committal services were conducted by Rev. Tracy. Military honors were conducted by the Maine Military Funeral Honors program from Augusta. “Amazing Grace” was played at the committal services by bagpiper, Jim Willey. A reception followed at the parish hall at St. Athanasius-St. John Church. Arrangements were under the care of the Meader and Son Funeral Home.
