NORWAY — Juanita L. Higgins, 74, a resident of Park Street, Livermore Falls, died early Wednesday, Nov. 23, at her brother’s home in Norway, where she had been residing for the past few weeks.

She was born Feb. 4, 1937, in Wilton, the daughter of F. Maurice and Methyl (Ranger) McLaughlin. Juanita was a 1955 graduate of Livermore Falls High School.

On April 16, 1983, she married Richard E. Higgins. She had worked in the local shoe shops and Key Bank in Augusta as a records clerk.

Juanita enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sports, but especially time spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Meloney Emond of Lewiston; her sons, Matthew Gaudet and his wife, Jeannie, of Jay and Michael Gaudet of Turner; brothers, Robert McLaughlin and his wife, Joanne, of Fayette, Paul McLaughlin of New Gloucester, Richard Perry and his wife, Karen, of Tennessee, Douglas Perry and his wife, Dianne, of Norway, George Perry and his wife, Margaret, of Ticonderoga, N.Y., and Greg Perry and his wife, Freda, of Hartford; sisters, Joline Coolidge and her husband, Clint of Jay, Meredith Laurinaitis and her husband, Stanley, of Davenport, Fla., and Realine Perry of Waterville; stepbrother, Lauriston Gile and his wife, Jane, of Livermore Falls; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Brock and Matthew Renolds, Ryan, Brianna and Brittany Gaudet, Logan and Megan Frey and Loran Bryant; seven great-grandchildren, Cymon, Nickali, Jaidyn, Skyler, Sierra, Kadence and Kaeleb; special cousin, Rance Ranger and his wife, Susie, of Turner; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard E. Higgins; her daughter, Monique McLaughlin; her son, Mark Gaudet, her sisters, Florice Bryant, Dorothy “Toogie” Perkins and Bonney Petria; and her brother, Raphaeal McLaughlin.
