FARMINGTON — Betty R. Leeman, 84, passed away on Nov. 21 at her home, following a brief illness.

She was born on June 24, 1927, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., the loving daughter of the late Russell and Mary Litchard; she was predeceased by one younger sister, Laurel Chiles.

Betty graduated from Rochester General School of Nursing as a registered nurse. While living in Niagara Falls, Betty was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Pierce Avenue Presbyterian Church choir and was an avid piano and organ player. She married the late William M. Credicott in 1948, and relocated to Farmington in 1965.

Betty was a registered nurse at Franklin County Memorial Hospital for numerous years, being promoted to quality care supervisor before she retired.

In February 1986 Betty was married to the Rev. Lloyd Leeman. With Lloyd, she was a world traveler, taking many cruises and trips to various places around the world including Greece, Holland, Scotland, Israel and Nicaragua, to name a few. But her most memorable trip was traveling the perimeter of the United States by camper.

In both Farmington and Skowhegan, Betty was an active church member of the United Methodist Women’s groups. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and was very proud of her beautiful flower gardens. Also an avid quilter, she was a member of the Maine Mountain Quilters group. Above all else, Betty’s biggest accomplishment was her family. Her infectious smile and generous nature was known by many and will be missed by all. Her life was blessed with beauty and grace, which she illuminated everywhere she went.

Surviving are her loving husband of 25 years, the Rev. Lloyd Leeman of Farmington; a son, William R. Credicott and his wife, Anne Credicott of Abilene, Texas; a daughter, Caryn S. Hayden and her husband, Rick Hayden of Hollis; four grandchildren, Cain, Misty, Tasha and Amanda; and five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Makenna, Rilee, Hayden and Ethan.

She was predeceased by her first husband, “Bill.”
