AUBURN — Penny Lou Patenaude, 35, of Lisbon, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22, surrounded by her family and close friends at the Hospice House after losing a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Penny was born on June 27, 1976, the daughter of Judy Hardy-Goddard and the late Alphie Patenaude. She was raised in Lisbon where she attended Lisbon schools, graduating from Lisbon High School to later attend community college for CNA/RN.

She enjoyed spending her time with family and friends and living life to the fullest. Penny was one not afraid to speak her mind, which is what drew people to her. Her honesty, witty comments and her love for everyone around her was like no other and will never be replaced. Penny was a fighter until the end and never gave up on what she believed in; she was a very determined individual.

Penny is survived by her four amazing children, Jake, Andrew, Allyson and Ella; mother and stepfather, Judy Hardy-Goddard and Norman Goddard of Lisbon; stepmother, Julie Belanger of Lisbon; grandmothers, Starr Hardy and Cheryl Goddard of Lisbon Falls; grandparents, Spencer and Pat Hardy of Florida; brothers, Allie and wife, Adrienne of Topsham and Richard and wife, Becky of Lisbon; sister Elizabeth and husband, Kevin Coen of Vermont; brother-in-law, Dennis McNamara and wife, Amy; nephews, Michael and Nick McNamara, Bailey and Peyton Patenaude and Seth and Luke Patenaude; a niece, Madison McNamara; her cousin, James Fowler and wife, Ashley and their children Tyler and Jameson; special cousins/nieces, Jamalyn, Katelyn and Kayla; her beloved aunts, Linda Fowler and husband, James of Lisbon Falls and Jamie Hardy of Lisbon Falls; and her loving uncle, Michael Hardy of Bowdoin. She is also survived by many more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to list.

She was predeceased by her sister, Kerri Patenaude-McNamara; her father, Alphie Patenaude Jr. and her great-grandparents, Linwood and Mabel Russell.
