SOUTH PARIS — David Bernard Whynot, 83, of South Paris, died Thursday, Nov. 24, at the Maine Veterans’ Home.

He was born in Boston, Mass., on Feb. 21, 1928, the son of James and Thelma Carroll Whynot.

David faithfully served his country from 1946 to 1949 in the Army Air Corps. He had been a self-employed master electrician. He was a member of the VFW.

He is survived by his children, Stephen Whynot of Southboro, Mass., William Lenart of New York City, Lorraine Havlin of Hartford, Alice Caldwell of Yarmouth, Donna Whynot of Rumford and Paul Whynot of West Haven,Utah; sisters, Sylvia Perella of Belmont, Mass., June MacMaster of Somerville, Mass., Dorothy Whynot of New Hampshire and Blanches Veinot of Nova Scotia, Canada; a brother, James Whynot of Virginia; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and six nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Dorothy Eagan; and a son, David Lenart.
