DEAR SUN SPOTS: We were having dinner at Applebee’s restaurant while vacationing with my daughter, son-in-law and 11-year-old grandson this past summer.

As most people know, there are many celebrity pictures on the walls at Applebee’s, and we were naming them as we waited for our meal. My grandson turned to the famous photo of Marilyn Monroe with her white dress flying up and exclaimed: “I know who that is. That’s Betty White!”

I’ve wanted to write to Ms. White ever since, knowing how much she would get a kick out of that comment. We were all in stitches She really is still famous, even with the very young.

Could you please find an address for me? I would like to share that comment with her. Thank you very much. — Still Laughing Nana

ANSWER: Usually Sun Spots has a tough time finding any mailing address for a celebrity, but this time she found too many. You will have to decide which one to use — or send four letters!

According to fanmail.biz, you can write to Betty at P.O. Box 491965, Los Angeles, CA 90049-8965. You could also write to her c/o her current show, “Hot in Cleveland,” King Street Productions Inc., 345 Hudson St., New York, NY 10014, or in c/o of Celebrity Consultants LLC, 3340 Ocean Park Blvd., Suite 1005, Santa Monica, CA 90405. Her show is shown on TV Land. That address is 1515 Broadway, New York, NY 10036.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I faithfully watch Channel 6 every morning. I noticed a ring on Kevin’s left hand. Has he just gotten married? If so, I am so happy for him. He is such a happy, jolly person.

Why is he growing a beard? It makes him look way older and does not fit him at all. I hope he does not keep it too long. But I love the team, including Sharon and Lee. — Anita, No Town

ANSWER: Sun Spots guessed that you meant weatherman Kevin Mannix and contacted community relations at WCSH Channel 6. They said, yes, Kevin has recently married.

Sun Spots did not feel comfortable asking him about his beard, but she went online to see it. She agrees that it does make him look older, but she thinks it makes him look distinguished.

“Kevin is a graduate of Northeastern University. Prior to his start at News Center, Kevin was the weather forecaster at WAGM in Presque Isle. He also worked in Phoenix, Ariz., and Worcester, Mass.

“Kevin’s favorite aspect of his job here is telling viewers how he arrived at the day’s forecast. Kevin says, ‘I say when I’m sure, and I say when I’m not sure. Viewers I meet say they like that honesty.’ When asked how he got into television, he replies, ‘My dad was a broadcaster. I guess it’s in the genes!’

“Kevin enjoys jogging, movies, and travel. He’s also a big Red Sox and Patriots fan! He is very proud of his involvement with Coats for Kids and the Waban Telethon each spring in Sanford, Maine. Kevin has two sons.”
