LIVERMORE FALLS — The code enforcement officer gave a local couple the OK to move a new mobile home onto a slab after he discovered through research that the property meets ordinance requirements.

The Board of Appeals had planned to meet Nov. 22 to consider a variance for David and Michelle Harvey at 47 Park St. for a nonconforming lot.

The meeting was canceled because a variance does not have to be granted, Code Enforcement Officer James Butler Jr. said Nov. 18.

After further investigation and reviewing local ordinances, the proposed project is acceptable as proposed, he said.

He initially denied the building notification permit based on the Building Lot Standards Ordinance, which addresses nonconforming lots in the village area.

The lot is conforming because it is larger than 10,000 square feet and has the minimum frontage of 100 feet on the roadway, he said.

The new mobile home will now be allowed to be put on a slab instead of having to have a 4-foot foundation, he said.
