AUBURN — The Maine Women’s Network will meet Dec. 14  from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Auburn Hilton Garden Inn.

Kim Jacques and Chelsea Callanan of Revelation Massage will be the featured speakers. They will highlight the valuable business resources that are available in the L-A community that were key in facilitating their successful startup. They include the SBA, local accounting services, business coaching, professional branding, Web services, legal support and advertising services. They will also share their process and simple tools for maintaining focus on the reality of growth and success.

Jacques and Callanan are the winners of an entrepreneurial contest put on by the LAEGC and the Chamber of Commerce that had an ambitious goal of connecting with youth who had roots in the local community, and encouraging them to consider starting a business in Lewiston-Auburn. The program, called Launch L-A!, featured a contest inviting young entrepreneurs to submit a proposal to start a business in L-A. Entries were screened by a committee of business and banking professionals, who judged the ideas on a number of criteria including creativity, viability, and community need.
