LEWISTON — The Lewiston Middle School Blue Demons Roy Division B team skated to a 9- 0 victory in their first game this past Sunday in SMMSHL play.
Shawn-Michael Chabot and Joey Lake combined goaltending duties, both making huge saves to earn the shutout over Scarborough Middle School Red Storm. The Demons torrid scoring attack was led by Alex Robert with four goals. Alec Howes netted a hat trick, Hunter Hughes and Chad Lynch both chipped in with a goal and an assist. Nathan St Laurent and Ridge Field each added a helper to complete the scoring.
LMS Blue Demons (Ingalls Division B) team beat Yarmouth 7-3. Lewiston’s first two tallies come from Sam Frechette. Frechette’s second goal of the game was a power play goal that came as a tip off a great shot from the point from Tyler Marcoux. This was the first of three goals in less than two minutes to break open a close 1-1 game against the Jr. Clippers.
Bree Bergeron and Jeremy Foley added the other goals during this short period. Rounding out the scoring were Ryan Blouin, Hunter Steele, and Ridge Field with a goal each. Collecting assists were Field and Frechette with two each, Blouin, Marcoux and Caden Smith. Travis Lepage and Jacob Smith shared the netminding duties. The Demons Ingalls B Division team is now 2-0.
LMS Blue Demons (Braun Division A) team took a hard loss at the hands of the Westbrook Middle School Eagles, 5-3. Lewiston opened the scoring on a bullet from the point by Ryan Bossie off a great feed by Alex Rivet. The Demons controlled much of the play however the Eagles made the most of their opportunities through the second period.
Luke Trickey and Kyle Paul had two goals and an assist each that led Westbrook. Greg Buotte netted the game-winner for the Eagles and added a helper of his own. Lewiston’s Cameron Dionne and Colby Bilodeau had a goal each. Eddie Turgeon, Brandon Michaud and Andrew Loisel each had an assist. Brett Bannister took the loss in net for the Demons.
The LMS Blue Demons’ top team (Soule Division A) skated to a 2-1 win over the Saco Middle School Bobcats. Sam Zashut and Gordie Ide combined in net for the Demons win.
