LEWISTON — An informational meeting about a proposed “buy local” rewards program meant to benefit shopppers and local businesses is set for Thursday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce, 415 Lisbon St.

According to information from the company behind the program, customers would get a reward card giving them money back on their local purchases and support local businesses, while merchants would pay reduced processing fees and attract loyal, local shoppers.

Additional details will be discussed during the meeting, which will be hosted by Synderesis Technologies, the Virginia-based company. The program would be called The Maine Rewards Card.
