LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women will start the month by hosting its annual open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, in the newly renovated facility at 97 Blake St. Light snacks will be offered, and music will be provided by Denise Dill and friends. Baskets of goodies will be given as door prizes.

Kim Jacques from Revelation Massage will offer her monthly class at 1:15 p.m. on Dec. 12. The topic this month is “EZ Yoga to Relax.” Other programs for personal nurture offered on Tuesday afternoons include Wisdom Circle at 1 p.m. Dec. 6 with Sarah Wood from the Sexual Assault Crisis Center. On Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. there will be a group discussion on “Beating the Blues During the Holidays.” A SARK group will meet at 1 p.m. Dec. 15 with a focus on building self esteem and nurturing creativity. The group’s student nurses are on break during December but will return in January for monthly health and wellness checks.

Holiday activities include caroling and holiday storytelling at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, a Christmas movie at 10 a.m. on Dec. 20 and a cookie baking day on Dec. 22. The annual holiday party is scheduled for Dec. 23 and will include a cookie exchange.

Other regular programs include a writing workshop, poetry lunch and various arts and crafts. The monthly BINGO is set for 10 a.m. Dec. 13. Al-Anon continues at 12:15 each Wednesday. Personal hygiene items are available monthly upon request at no charge.

Wisdom Boxes, handmade at the center, make wonderful stocking stuffers. They are available for purchase at the center, will be sold at various local holiday events and are retailed at the Gift Shop at St. Mary’s and at Revelation Massage in Auburn.

The center opens at 9 a.m. each weekday and closes at 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, at noon on Wednesday and Friday. The center will be closed for the week between Christmas and New Year, and close for snow if local schools are closed. All women are welcome and programs are offered free of charge.
