POLAND — A local man is recovering from multiple stab wounds after an altercation with three men Thursday afternoon, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department.

Lt. Glenn Holt said in a press release that Christopher Coolidge, 20, was stabbed at 59 Walnut St. When police responded, he was taken to Central Maine Medical Center. Holt said Coolidge was in stable condition Thursday night.

In the early morning hours Friday, police arrested Linwood Edwards, 20, of Auburn, and charged him with elevated aggravated assault after locating him in Skowhegan.

The case remains under investigation.
