Rev. Douglas Taylor, director of the urban youth outreach The Jesus Party, attended a candlelight vigil in Kennedy Park sponsored by Safe Voices. As a result of that meeting he decided to host a candlelight vigil to include the children who attend his ministry. On Oct. 21 in light of “Domestic Violence Awareness Month” the children were asked to recognize all victims of violence by a moment of silence and the lighting of candles. Bertha Jacqmin of Oasis Ministries of Lewiston and a special song titled “Go Light Your World” was sung by Sonia Taylor. For more information concerning upcoming events the ministry can be reached at 786-5568.
